Doctor Johns Biotech Centre for Research and Development (DJBC) started its journey in the year 2021 at Kottarakara as a water testing laboratory under the leadership of Dr. Jinu John and Mr. Saji John.  Now DJBC is a life science research and training center involved in the development of industrial process and products, environmental research. We are engaged in the generation and dissemination of rigorous interdisciplinary knowledge that prioritizes capacity-building for producing the next generation of scholars. We are trying to enhance the employability of graduate and postgraduate students through our internships and training programs. We provide consultation and support for experimental design, planning, and report writing. We make all possible efforts to upgrade the infrastructure facility and services by innovative schemes to augment the effectiveness of biotechnology research and try to accommodate constructive feedback to improve ourselves to serve better.

Biotechnology has become one of the emerging and exponentially growing field with a multidisciplinary nature, which integrates various branches of interdisciplinary sciences. We sincerely feel that research is an essential component of education and that experiential learning is the most effective way to learn it. Biotechnology, phytochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, molecular biology, food analysis, environmental biotechnology, plant tissue culture, nanotechnology, and other related subjects are the main areas of our research.
